HOW IT ALL GOT STARTED…
Toni Himmelman started as a sole proprietor in 1999. She built her business and reputation by teaching, training, and consulting many local businesses in Boise and Sun Valley. After about 10 years of consulting, she realized that there was a need for good, reliable, and trustworthy bookkeepers. And QBSolutions was born. Since Toni didn’t want to do the bookkeeping herself, she also realized she would need a good team. She first hired Joy Luedtke to help her with the business model. Together they created an affordable smart solution to outsourced bookkeeping using SAAS (software as a service).
The “cloud” model allows each business to select only the services that they need, allowing the owners to focus on running their businesses and keeping their bookkeeping costs steady and reliable. This model also allows the office team at QBS to make sure that all the bases are covered, even if someone is sick, needs a personal day, or goes on vacation.
It only took Toni & Joy about 9 months to hire another team member and now the company has expanded to 4 employees and approximately 45 clients. Growth has been steady since hiring the first employee. QBSolutions made the jump from an office located in Toni’s home to an office space in downtown Boise, shortly after Joy was hired. They continued to grow and have just recently moved to a stand alone building (with free parking) right off of Americana Boulevard, close to the Beautiful Boise Greenbelt where you can usually see one or more of them taking an afternoon stroll or riding bikes to a nearby client’s office.
