Locally Grown Food Delivered To Your Door

In 2013, Larry and Sherry Kraay chose a plant-based lifestyle for many personal, as well as global, reasons. In researching growing their own food on a large scale, they came across several sources that talked about turning this idea into a business. Greenhouses were purchased and production began. Within months, demand skyrocketed, and expansion was needed. Another greenhouse was added in November 2015. They teamed up with other like-minded, local producers and artisans to provide a variety of organically grown produce, prepared and speciality foods, as well as hand-crafted items.

Farm-to-Door

Kraay’s Market & Garden offers home delivery, at no charge, to customers in the Wood River Valley. Online ordering opens up on Sunday morning at 11 am, closing on Monday at 4 pm.  Deliveries are made on Wednesday. We enjoy giving our customers the personalized service of harvesting to their particular order and delivering it right to their door.

Planting the Seed

Retired entrepreneur Larry Kraay moved from the Chicago area to the Wood River Valley, in 1972, to fulfill his childhood dream of raising Arabian horses in the West. He purchased the property in 1978 and began building his dream. Sherry Kraay grew up in small agricultural communities in Eastern Oregon and moved to the Wood River Valley in 2002. She has always enjoyed cooking, gardening and preserving the harvest.

Embracing the Growth

2017 was another year of tremendous growth!  We moved to an online ordering system in May, which is so much more efficient.  We obtained our license to be able to offer beer and wine to our customers.  We purchased a delivery van, as we could no longer fit our deliveries in our truck!  We continued to add more vendors, now totaling 47!  The partnership between us, our customers and our vendors is so valuable to each of us.     Most of the summer months and into the fall, we were blessed to have numerous WWOOFers help out on the farm.  They helped in the day to day operations, such as watering, weeding, harvesting and processing.

Visit Our Farm

We enjoy having all types of visitors – from preschool-12th grade students to elderly groups – at our farm. We will give you a tour and introduce you to all of our animals!  We do ask that you call ahead.

For long-term work/stay exchanges, please visit our profile via WWOOF-USA (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) or connect with us to find out about more opportunities like CouchsurfingAirB&B or volunteering. We’re almost always here. We just ask that you give us a call first at (208) 481-1101 & let us know when you’ll be heading down our way. Traveling by RV…check us out on Harvest Hosts!
