A SoCal girl at heart, my early days were spent entertaining my competitive spirit as a surfer and equestrian rider. I fell in love with photography after discovering the darkroom in high school, but put that dream on hold to pursue my passion for sports.
At 23, I became one of the first female professional snowboarders. I spent the next 10 years traveling the world competing in various events (including the X Games) and making a name for myself as an athlete.
Throughout my career as a snowboarder, I always knew that I would come back to photography. I invested in photography school, bought professional gear and took time off to shoot. After spending three years earning my chops as an assistant for photographer David Stoeklien, I made a home for myself in Idaho and began shooting anything I could: kids, weddings and, my personal favorite, portraits.
My Montana friend Jayde Gorder had the opportunity to model for Hillary in Sun Valley. Hillary’s professionalism, attitude, patience, and abilities “blew Jayde away”. And the photos…stunning! — Bill Brockett
I now live in Sun Valley with my best friend and boyfriend of 13 years, Mark, and our rockstar daughter Presly. I have a close relationship with wine, tacos and hot sauce, and get along best with people who don’t take themselves too seriously. I love what I do and take pride in a knack for noticing and capturing what makes my clients special.
I am also grateful to have been voted “Best Photographer in Sun Valley” for the last 9 years!
